Currently, if your world is set to Private, all your articles will have to have subscriber groups associated with them to allow users to see the content you are making. However, this is all a manual process. You cannot set a folder to have access for everyone in "Subscriber Group A" and then have everything placed in there (subfolders and files) also receive the same Subscriber Group A automatically. This means for every single folder or article you create, you have to add each group manually. Not only is this time consuming, but also prone to human error.
I propose we use the same system that is standard across most computer technology and have Inheritable Parent Permissions. All children - I.E, Folders/Files underneath the Parent to have the same permissions as the parent. This could also be done the same way as Windows; if you do not wish for a certain folder/file to inherit permissions, you just untick the "inherit permissions" checkbox. This would be much more manageable and easier for people who are dealing with multiple subscriber groups.
The Team's Response
This feature received little to no support from the community.
@SeeleyOne this feature already exists. When you create a subscriber group you can set it as a default and it will always be applied when you create a new article/category etc.
