The document article template currently has no built in prompt for language
Would it not be good to be able to add one or more languages to the properties of a document?How does this feature request address the current situation?
I realise I can simply add the languages into the side bar manually, but having a prompt to associate language articles with documents seems like one of the more obvious attributes of a document which you might expect to be part of the standard template. Having just started to think a bit about languages in one of my worlds, it was natural to consider existing document articles and ascribe them to one or more of my newly created language articles. A nice prompt would make this easier.What are other uses for this feature request?
Not to be too greedy in one request maybe, but if we could make this association, could World Anvil not also automatically add into the sidebar for the language itself "Texts", listing the texts that are known to be written in that language as a cross reference? I'm thinking about the kind of cross-link World Anvil creates automatically for characters who are past holders of a role for example.The Team's Response

Additionally, I'd love it there was a field for "related texts" or "texts in this language" on the language bar, that are automatically linked if the language is chosen on the document article.

on 2024-02-09 08:55Yes! As long as it allows for more than one language in the field. Dictionaries for one language into a different language should be able to list both. And I agree it would be fantastic if adding the language to the document template also created a field in the language template for texts in that language.
