Images

It's really helpful that we can resize and orient pictures using bbcode but I think a few extra options could be really helpful and time saving! Small things like being able to change the shape, having a few default frames to choose from and maybe some really basic filters without having to upload a slightly edited version of the same image (since different members have different storage capacities). At the very least, being able to flip images horizontally or vertically and such would be very helpful!

The Team's Response

Thanks for your suggestion! We're accepting this under investigation, and part of the suggestion might happen in a future update.   @romainhdl: I saw you mention that you have trouble using images due to the ID system. But as a Guild member, you don't have to use IDs! Simply type the [ character followed by the beginning of the image's name, and choose from the drop-down. This is the extended mention system, which work with images and other types of content in your world too.

To round up a list of useful functions: Rotate around center Crop all around from center Crop from direction (up, down, right, left) Set a basic frame: circle and common polygon from triangle to octagon Adding a border: would require a separate PNG in your gallery, centered on the main image (or a px width and color in RGB) Color filters: black/white, negatives, sepia, cyanotype, some classical colors (green, red, yellow, an RGB hexadecimal code might be easiest), Blur (Gaussian) Symmetry (mirroring): vertical and horizontal   Something else that would be good: the ability to search the images by name on top of their ID when using the WYSIWYG, I don't remember machine made ID, I remember names and if I need the ID, I just open the gallery and copy/paste, at this point I just have to go for BBcode and never use the WYSIWYG

Think it's an excellent idea, eliminates much of the hassle of having to crop through other methods and tools. Having it in one aids so much. Even just little drawing tools would go a long way. For my world simply adding the sections through drawing them out was a tough issue I had to face. Just makes things much smoother.

I'm not sure about the filters or frame shapes because I think that would be pretty complicated to implement, but being able to rotate or mirror an image would be really awesome.

Being able to flip images horizontally or vertically would be really useful :) currently I need to add extra lines of css to my article for it.

Some globally provided fancy borders and some css classes for that would be nice. Maybe a nice border for each theme and then some simple ones like thick line with square corners or double line with round corners and stuff like that. There's a lot possible with plain css, but I guess most of that is not usable for us because stuff gets filtered by security. So if it's provided by WA, that would give a lot of possibilities.
