IPA conlang reader accessability ui
It would be very nice to have a feature where we could set up a word or phrase that's in a conlang so that when some one clicks on that word/phrase, it is read out loud. This would be useful so that people not familiar with IPA would be able to hear what something is supposed to sound like.    Something like what exists on the website IPA Readerbut have it imbedded into an article.

Hello Beans!   I am really sorry but this is beyond the purview of World building and World Anvil .   World Anvil is compatible with most IPA readers already.   That will not be considered. Not now and not in the future .   EDIT: After reading a bit more about this I think actually this is going to be very possible using Amazon's Polly service. (reading https://cuttlesoft.com/blog/pronouncing-things-with-amazons-polly/) This sounds like a fun project. I will be accepting this as a "sideproject"

    YES. I would even be happy with a feature where I could record myself saying the word. And maybe there could be some kind of pop-up keyboard to make it easier to put in non-standard letters.

    I would love to see this and potentially a quick translate option, maybe changing the language at the top of the article to get only the main language or a mix of conlang and main language.

    This is pretty easy if World Anvil is already on AWS. The reader linked to by Gwen0100 has a detailed implementation description. I'm doing something similar for work and Polly makes it very easy.

    Believe it or not, IPA isn't as universal as one would initially believe. There are variations in symbols used and in pronounciation even - something I learned recently. That said, there is an online IPA reader that I found after a lot of digging, I could maybe send that and you could link it where you felt it appropriate to do so? Just a thought
