Observing the map in a view mode, the text of the territory appears in a single location- where the middle is believed to be- instantly. It just so happens that on several territories, these texts cover important landmarks I can't access because the textbox blocks it. I don't mind how it appears or where, but if it were possible to arrange a tooltip delay (say, 0.5 seconds), or even customize one, I will have it easier to view cities or landmarks in my kingdoms.
With a tooltip delay I will have more time to pinpoint and look at locations that are normally concealed by the text prompt. Even more so if it could be configured in the settings. This is especially important if the current solution is to work with layers and that would mean build things from scratch.
Can you not just put your pins into a group (or groups) that need active selection by the user, so they don't automatically display? That way you can admire the uncluttered beauty of your map for as long as you want before pins and their tooltips hide parts of it. That's my solution to this issue.
