Currently there is a template for materials which is the only thing I can find even slightly close to what I'm looking for. I don't think traditions fit either. There should be a template for cuisines and types of foods. Alcohol, stew, breads, fruit, veggies, etc.

Here is my argument as to why I don't think this article template can merely be swept under the rug so to speak by dividing it into other available templates. I am a professional GM who is seeking to do extensive world building. I want every culture and country to feel like a living and breathing entity to my players who decide to cultivate their characters backstories with this world in mind. I have researched how best to make such a thing happen and one of the repetitive topics brought up during my search is cuisine. The arts, religion, traditions are all well and good but one of the most connecting pieces between two cultures is their sharing of cuisine. Slight to distinct matters not, any difference will be noted by players in my game even if subconsciously. However, during the building of their character, when they are looking through all of the many documents, I have written it will be confusing to have every bit of a cultures cuisine to be broken up and divided into these other ill-fitting categories. How will the grasp the importance of a particular method of harvesting a grain for their people when it is simply titled a material? Then to have that article with its meaning be lost when they go to read on traditions and see that for some reason there is a dish written about that has caused turmoil in a community. My player would be forced to bounce around between categories when we all know people are more likely to be retained if there is an easy flow of information. Why not make this ease accessible to those who wish it?

The generality of the Item template although allows diversification, removes possibilities to explore food as more concrete topic then just an Item but a cultural based substance linked to festivities and rituals. If not as a separate template at least as a subcategory.

I know we can use generic articles and some of us can make custom templates, but I think a dedicated cuisine template would be really useful! Especially for people like me who use the pre made templates to help flesh out worldbuilding more.

I'd use the item template for this (or if the focus is more on what that type of cuisine means to certain people then I'd use tradition). Generally I see it as Species: wheat, Material = flour, Item: cake, Tradition: party food. Alternatively you could always use a generic template and add in your own connections to other articles manually and use whatever headings you like :D

This drink, er, I mean this POST, I like it. Another! *smashes coffee mug* On a serious note, this sort of template could be really interesting, and I'd love to see it actualized.

I think this has come up so many times that perhaps it really should have it's own template (Food/Drink/Consumables/Recipe/etc.) Means I would have to re-do a TON of articles, but willing to do so, lol.

I've been using the item template, but I think a cuisine template could be really nice. could have interesting spots to talk about what restaurants, cultures, & locations make it as well as what ingredients are involved and the recipe to make it. What it tastes like. How expensive, affordable, and accessible it is . etc.

Most people use the Item template for this stuff, but a cuisine template would be very useful.

Especially with traditional dishes and things like that, where you could add history or cultural significance to the dish, I could definitely see a need for this! You could also maybe link the food to a tradition/ritual, like a holiday where this dish is usually eaten!

I can see the options to add ingredients (with their own article, optional), famous chefs known for the dish, and other things to put in the right-hand box. Love the idea. I used "Item" for my candy and it felt malplaced.
