encyclopedia -template information
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
I really love the templates, they are very easy to use ! But, i think that sometimes they might lack informations ! I suggest a direct link to a wikipedia/encyclopedia page for the informations stated in the template (on the template specific prompt and article on dashboard) !How does this feature request address the current situation?
With this feature, we will be able to fully understand the meaning of said templates ! The little description with example is very helpful, true, but not enough sometimes ! there are oftne 'big words' like ecosystem, fauna or esle, they are so big that they could easily be divided into many categories themselves ! And the more we learn about them, the more information we can add to our already long worlds :)Especially for people like me, whose english is not the native language ! I didn't know the difference between race and ethny before looking up on wikipedia ! Maybe i am not the only one ?
What are other uses for this feature request?
The good thing is that we can understand new things, and with the help of encyclopedia, we can go even further and have pictures, long detailed description and explanation about very interesting features !If put like an 'i' just after the template name inside the article, or dashboard (or quick links) for example, ze can have real example of how far we can go, and if we are using the good template !
I am sure many people (includin myself) would like to help by providing the links/site to said words/templates ! (And even in other languages too)

Some of them already exist (https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex/a/article-templates). It may be helpful to have these linked in the templates themselves, but the information you're asking for already exists somewhere, you just have to look for it.

on 2021-07-09 13:26A "further reading" button wouldn't hurt in some cases. Often it's just that the templates need to be applied in a specific way that is only intuitive for people with a specific background. However, I think it would probably be better to have some thoughts about each template on the Codex (if we haven't already) which should then be linked to the template.
