What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Timelines require events to occur in each era in order to be viewed, I have a timeline that is meant to just be an outline of the world's years prior to the current era, with hundreds of thousands of years between. The description of each era has the outline of each era, and I only recently discovered they need events to be seen.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
The feature I am suggesting is a simple checkbox on a timeline you have created that just shows each era and its description, without needing an event on each era, so it can serve as an outline of the world.
What are other uses for this feature request?
This could be used to create outlines of the worlds history, like how earth's history has its various eras, without having to write down every little thing about them (don't wanna get stuck in that worldbuilding bloat and never write the game).
The Team's Response
Hey there!
So, this is something that was discussed a lot in the past and probably the reason this did not get a lot of support to begin with. The community decided for empty eras not to display unless they have something in them on purpose. This suggestion would overturn this but the support is too low to action it right now
Just to clarify I am not for or against this, this is entirely into your hands, I just want to make sure I give development time in things the wider community really wants and that we serve the majority of you :)
A suggestion with higher support in the future to "Force" an era to display even if empty would be very possible to be implemented, but we will need to vote on this ;)
