What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

  I would like to have a sort of collapsible list for creating campaign notes that are viewable in a compact way. I attached a screenshot as an example.

 

How does this feature request address the current situation?

  It would make it possible to organize articles in a new way.  

What are other uses for this feature request?

  Any article could benefit from this feature, depending on the usecase.

  I feel that this could be very useful for the world codex as well to be able to collapse parent articles and their children.

  Do you want a list of articles or a list of items in an article? The list in an article would be nice, especially when viewing the article and being able to close them up like a spoiler. I would like to see a way to check off my points completed from the article view also.
