What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
The ability to mention a date in an article using the mention system to produce a named entry in the timeline to generate a historical event.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Using a variant of the current mention system, the user could $####(timeline) that would generate a stub as it currently does for articles.
What are other uses for this feature request?
The Team's Response
Thanks for the suggestion! The extended mention system already supports events (use "[" instead of "@" as the trigger character if you're a Guild member).
As for placeholder links for events, this would require a very complex implementations, are historical events are not simple structures (they require at least a date on top of the event name). For now I recommend using the purple button (green plus button at the bottom right -> purple inkwell button), but an upcoming update to the WYSIWYG editor will address this too.
