One guy tossing thousands of AC into a vote might skew perception with regards to how popular/unpopular a suggestion really is. Alternatively, imagine someone getting hedged out of community engagement for lack of AC because all their AC were spent on pushing a single suggestion that never made vote threshold rather than being meted out in smaller, more discrete chunks as they are now.
As someone who has been saving their ACs into the thousands, I find myself agreeing with many others here. Allowing more than 300 would only serve those savvy savers with a higher-tier subscription and inflate what an AC is worth when voting.
Others like SpencerH23 and a Roaring Dimensional Horror have already expressed my thoughts.
Personally, I find the 300 already a lot, since it means people with a higher subscription have more weight already as they get more points per day. Bumping that up to 500 or even 2k would just completely defeat the purpose in my opinion.
I agree with A Mischievious Ooze. Allowing people to put in a thousand or more points at once would be anti-democratic. This would make it way too easy for people to abuse the system to the detriment of everyone else.
I don't know, I think it could unfortunately make voting a bit less meaningful. If someone has saved up 1000 to 2000 coins then they could sway a vote considerably, which could inherently make people less inclined to vote until they saved up a bunch of coins and would outweigh others as well. I think there's just a potential for bad impacts with this
Mixed feelings on this one, learning more towards “no”. While I personally have ridiculous amounts of ACs saved up and wouldn’t mind a bit more speaking power, not everyone has that. Plus, as another user pointed out, that’s kinda unfair. Maybe like +500 would be reasonable, maaayybbeee even +1000, but +2000 is just way too much.
It's a bit anti-democratic, though isn't it? I mean even if you think something is the greatest idea since sliced bread, you're still only one user. Honestly I'd down vote more if only this interface let me do it... (joke, obviously but also kind of not...)
There used to be more options for voting amounts, and I never understood why the other amounts were removed.
