Sorting the relationships according to the character of the current page

relationship character

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

The relationships don't have a uniform design. It depends on which character you create the relationship with. One of the two is shown in the relationship on the right and the other on the left (the same for both). Therefore, you always have to check which character is on which side first.

In the picture you can see some of Magnus' relationships. You can see how Magnus is sometimes shown on the left and sometimes on the right, which is very annoying. It is not possible at the moment that the character of the page is always on the left and the other characters are therefore always on the right.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

My solution would be to simply sort the relationships so that the currently open character is always on the left and the other characters are always on the right. In my picture, Magnus would always be on the left, which would be clearer and nicer.

i hardly ever use the relationship tabs cause i don't like how they look, but man, if they were cleaned up and put in there own tab, that would be nice.

I agree with thepocketGM. I really like linking characters with relationships, but I really don't like how much bulk it adds to the articles. I think even moving the relationship blocks down into one of the metadata tabs would make things better. Or perhaps having the relationship blocks be collapsible, like a spoiler, so that they don't take up so much space. All of this in addition to having the display change depending on the active character article (though I'm unsure how difficult that would be to implement)

An additional suggestion: why not do away with this archaic view altogether?   Perhaps a section that states "Relationships" and has individual blocks that only state the opposite relationship. For the above example, have Magnus be implied, and each block might say something like:   Arendt (Towards Magnus) > (value, relation) < (value, relation)   You might even have Relationships show up by type, grouped according to Family, General, Partying, etc.   The above is exactly why I hardly use the relationship system and CSS'd my own, since the current implementation is an overly bulky way of delivering 2 pieces of information: how A feels to B, and B feels to A.

Or maybe just have a toggle, as I would prefer to be able to choose whether a character is always on the left or always on the right - I tend to prefer them to be on the right, personally.   And some folks might like the slightly chaotic appearance the current situation gives. So toggling between the three options (leave as-is, always on right, always on left) would probably be the most versatile and friendly to the greatest number of people and their workflows.
