Error message when uploading an image that's too big

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

I was helping my brother make his character so he could join my campaign in world anvil. And we were trying to upload an image and it wasn't saving. We were starting to get frustrated and didn't know why it wasn't saving. I then remembered that free accounts have a limit on how big an image file they can upload and we re-exported the image to be a smaller file size and then it worked.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

I think if you have an error message saying like "File size limit 1MB" that would be really helpful to troubleshoot the issue.

What are other uses for this feature request?

Not really any other uses except for better user experience. I haven't tried to recreate this issue so maybe it's an edge case for free users. But I think it creates UX debt that might cause some users to drop from the service. Actually let me retry to recreate the issue right now. So, I see that in the image uploader and when you FIRST create a character it has the text that says "Limited to 10MB" cause I'm a GM. But when you go back to edit the character and upload an image it only says "suggested minimum size 650X650px" and doesn't saying anything about image upload size. But I think that still having a error message stating the reason why it's not working would be helpful along side with a change saying "xMB limt for image uploads" or something like that.

tried uploading something too big, wouldnt work, tried another dozen times and wasted half an hour, ragequit, finally realized the next day it was bc of filesize. a better/clearer error message would Absolutely be helpful (although given how frustrating the experience was, im not likely to forget the size limit again!)

Run into this problem quite a few times and thought it was my internet or browser glitching. A clear error message would be awesome, because sometimes maps are small enough to upload at 4K, and sometimes they aren't, and I can never figure out what the problem is.

I had this same problem not too long ago. An error message would definitely be helpful.
