The mountain-ash speech

"Please listen to me... I know I am just some girl you have never met, and I come here to interrupt you, but me and my oni family was just a normal family. We lived in Himini like so many others. Like all of you. They would silence us too, but you didn't care. Nobody cares about us, and you just trampled on us. You people have no respect... You just trampled on us. You destroyed our home. We weren't even enemies. For all of our sakes we had been practicing humility, peacefulness. You forced us out into the streets, where we couldn't survive. There were times, when I wanted to kill myself just to be rid of the misery. My world was pure black. Day after day, people die. You still go on. It has been twelve days. You have nothing to gain. We are our own people now. Why do you continue to vent your frustrations on broken people? What do you want to gain? I say we stop. It is a possibility to live now live for ourselves. That is, if you want. It is so easy! You can stop. It is okay. We don't have to continue on... Our people can be saved if we stop destroying ourselves and others. If you won't listen, they will put an end to you. You will be seen as a threat, because it is what you are, what we are. I say we go up to our oppressors and reclaim the land for us and the natives. They will bow to us! They have seen your strength. They have seen your brutality. They have seen your disregard. They have seen all those you have killed. They see all the people you will kill. They see savages! Red blood flow through the streets... It is the blood of innocent people too. Of my scars! So listen, stop now. Then I won't ask why anymore."

This speech was performed by a young girl crying out her heartache over the blue days. She was disappointed, broken and felt betrayed. During the entire speech she would cry. What really made this stick with people, was her image. She was dressed in rags by this point. No shoes. In an ash grey dress, and she had a mountain-ash stick with her in her gestures. It wasn't planned, and was said with deep felt sincerity.
