Kytuvi - Circlet of the Kingmakers (kɪtuvi)

In ancient days, when the Ajutain (stone portal archway made of granite with a vein of quartz and marble) was discovered by the ones of old to have magical properties, the great Jon of the House of Kebu was commissioned to craft a crown of a blend of gold and the glittering jutai for the Venerable Ruler, one of the House of Iban. The ones of old soon discovered that they could pass between our world and the other by means of the crown. Jon of the House of Kebu was additionally commissioned to create a smaller circlet for the highest friend and advisor of the king, one Selwyn.
To the great sadness of the people, the heir of the House of Iban was a corrupt man, a great war erupted among the peoples till the evil heir was overthrown. Much debate ensued over who would rule the formerly expanding kingdom of Aureus. The House of Selwyn had proven to be the most worthy of champions against the evil of the king, jeopardizing their status as royal advisors. The people trusted them deeply and made them kingmaker, a position of great trust, leading to the coronation of the House of Lynwud.
The Kytuvi and the Crown of Kings have been passed down through the generations, becoming the most revered artifacts of the country.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The magic energy of the Kytuvi comes from the jutai (arch quartz), an element that connects earth to Zùnarìbh and stores magic from the between. The jutai cannot release the magic on its own, but enhances the strength and endurance of the bearer's magic energy.

Manufacturing process

The Kytuvi was manufactured by a goldsmith in ancient days. The gold was refined and wrought, the jutai stone was carved and melded with the gold in a mold. It could be made again, but no one is allowed access to jutai and making copies is forbidden.

Significance

The circlet is possessed by the highest family in the High Council of Advisors of Aureus. It is symbolic in that it it represents the honored position and gives them the authority. In addition, the circlet possesses it's own reserve of magic energy and can enhance the wearer's abilities.

Raw materials & Components

The Kytuvi is wrought of pure gold in a thin circle. Embedded in a thin band at the bottom of the circlet is a layer of jutai (quartz from the stone of the portal arch) which generates the magic energy and adds a subtle sparkle to the artifact.
