Human

Humans are the most common race on Zosoa, making up just over half of the population. They can be found on every continent in the known world, and are culturally and linguistically diverse. Humans often claim that their ambition, versatility, and pure skill is the sole reason for their dominance, but many other races argue that the ubiquity of human empires is only because of their numerical advantage. It is likely both; humans are fairly adaptable by humanoid standards, and their short lifespans encourage ambition, but there are other races with such traits.

No one is sure how old humans are, but diviner-historians estimate that humanity's first civilization came into being around 5,000 years ago. People of every continent claim that theirs is the origin point of both that early civilization and humanity itself.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Humans are common enough that few races have reason to dislike them as a whole, though this has not prevented the invention of dozens of derogatory nicknames for them, such as "smooth-skins" (lizardfolk), "soft-heads" (minotaurs), and "round-ears" (elves).
