Yuan-ti Pureblood
Yuan-ti Purebloods are the most humanoid of the serpentine yuan-ti, and those loyal to their latest kingdom are sometimes used as spies or saboteurs in other societies, disguised as humans. But most of the yuan-ti are more dedicated to finding a cure to the curse that changed their ancestors, and hunting the hated demons that gave it. Some yuan-ti have abandoned their kingdom and joined other Onunean realms, and so far the purebloods have been most successful in doing so. They still face a great deal of mistrust due to the actions of the old Yuan-ti Empire, however.

Civilization and Culture
History
Many centuries ago, a powerful human empire in southern Onunea allied with the extraplanar missionaries of a group of serpentine gods. However, these "missionaries" were actually wicked demons, and transformed them into snakelike beings.
Over time, the ones transformed to be most similar to snakes rose to power, regardless of former hierarchies. They began a series of brutal campaigns to expand their power, in the hopes of gaining the necessary resources to reverse their curse. Eventually, the yuan-ti's mighty empire was defeated by an alliance of kingdoms and tribes that feared they would be next.
As time went on, the magic of the curse became weaker, and now the vast majority of the yuan-ti are the so-called purebloods. Eventually, the yuan-ti established the kingdom of Akosin, which lacked the expansionist goals of the old empire, though rumor has it that some nobles desire a return to such days.
