The Red, Forzaantirilys (for-zan-TILL-ih-riss)
(a.k.a. Ashen Song)
The blood red dragon known as the Ashen Song is a creature of ash and cinder, her body wreathed in flame, scales made of obsidian steel, her blood molten lava burns with an unearthly heat. Forzaantirilys was released from her prison in 628 CE in a partially successful ritual. The incomplete ritual broke her chains, but was unable to restore much of her strength.
She settled beneath the Ashfall mountains, and slumbered for over a hundred years. In 672 CE, her slumbering form was discovered by local heroes who could sense the danger she posed. In an attempt to keep her slumbering forever, her lair and part of the mountain was collapsed on top of her.
Unfortunately, the heat of her form burned her way through the world's flesh, until it could no longer contain her growing power. In the greatest eruption in human memory The Red awakened.
What followed was a reign of fire that consumed much of Cormagh in a hellish series of Wars and conquests. No nation could stand up to her might or the Flamescar troops she birthed, and whole armies were turned to ash. She ruled the continent with terror and flame, demanding sacrifice and tribute.
She terrorized the continent for nearly 150 years, before a group of heroes were able to defeat her in battle, gravely wounding her in the process. Now she nurses her wounds and bides her time in the Elder Spine. Her very presence has charred the Daewin plains off the face of the world, leaving only The Desolation.
