17 - Paperwork, Really?

General Summary

Most of the day is spent acclimating to the new city. Heading to the Upper Courts, they swap their northern money for coin local to Embrefal, posing as new voyagers to the city. They spot a number of soldiers dressed entirely in black armor, standing stoicly despite the intense heat. The party identifies them as Scarlet Watchers, loyal guards to Emperor Sho'rath and Igni Paragons in their own right. Kalani finds a potion seller named Studdard and buys a potion of healing for himself.
Looking for a way out of the city into the cauldron, they speak to a lively hobgoblin named Ferdinand, who touts himself as an accomplished beast hunter. He points the party towards the mission boards, where multiple requests made by benefactors are available to accept. At the mission boards, the party grab themselves a request for moorbounder hides, a beast living within the Embrefal Jungle.
Looking to familiarize themselves with the city, they then head towards the markets towards the less opulent side of town. They meet Conga Blades Jr., the son of an old friend of Dhumkk'd's uncle. He says he hasn't seen Dhumkk'd's relative in a good while, but would likely place him at the docks if anywhere. Mender, Gem and Dhumkk'd find themselves at a disheveled green hut, in which resides a sketchy lizardfolk shaman named Malkarisziklaros, who totally doesn't practice magic. He offers the party his own brand of 'potions of healing' for cheaper than the Upper Courts. Kalani spots a curiously familiar lavender tent nearby. He steps inside, and finds a tiefling man remarkably similar to Mr. Langdon of the Bay of Kiwa. The tiefling introduces himself with the same name, offering similar divination talents and material components. 
Kalani asks Mr. Langdon for a favor, to scry on his mother in the Skyward Sanctums. The tiefling does so, showing Kalani a vision within his crystal ball. Kalani peers into a sight of his mother, locked away within a prison deep inside the high temples of the sanctum's upper ring. 
The party, eager to begin their search for the Staff of Igni, sign for hunting licenses and make their way towards the wayfarer gates.
