10 - No One Like Gnash

General Summary

The party return in the evening to the boat, only to hear raucous music playing from the deck. Kalani goes invisible and stealthily boards the ship, learning that it has been taken over by a crew of fishmen, singing the regales of Captain Grievous Gnash, a large sharkman. 

"No one crunches like Gnash,
No one munches like Gnash,
No one bundles his bounties in bunches like Gnash!
The round of his fins are extraordinary,
No man in town could be half as scary~
No fish as dashing as Gnash!"

Investigating the deck and a pile of treasure in the lower quarters, he returns to the party to share the news. The team devise a strategy to board the ship quickly - tapping into Gem's newfound talents and Ylva's bond, they quickly engage from the back of the ship. surprising the crew.
Dhumkk'd makes a startling entrance, immediately dropping a sahuagin and catching the attention of Captain Gnash. Kalani is the next to engage, disabling a number of crewmates with debilitating spells. Mender arrives via Gem's magic in an enlarged form, wrestling down a number of sahuagin. The drawn-out battle ends with a clash between Dhumkk'd and Gnash, trading a flurry of steel. Dhumkk'd remains standing thanks to Igni's blessing, and Gem lands the final blow in her Ascended State.
Gnash, grateful for a worthy adversary, dies with a handshake towards the bugbear, still standing. Isgrid is found, bound and unconscious, tied to the bow of the ship. The party heals her and interrogates the crew; the sahuagin reveal they raided Stormcrest's treasury and claimed the ship on their way out, at the Deep King's orders. They claim the Deep King resides in the southeast waters of Ziklaros, surrounded by his ample naval forces. Dhumkk'd and Jal have a heart-to-heart, the bugbear continuing to encourage the young half-orc.

The party check the hoard of treasure below deck, deciding to return it to the Stormcrest treasury after returning to Grandfin. And so they go, the ship traveling through the night and day to arrive back in the harbor.
