Session 12: Entering Thistletop Report
General Summary
After sneaking through Thistletop, the party (including helpful Shalelu Andosana and Ameiko Kaijitsu ) made it to the bridge, when they were spotted by a goblin mage with an interesting staff, and his animal sidekick, a fierce Firepelt Cougar.
They rushed across the bridge and hid on the other side. When the goblin made it halfway across, they released one side of the bridge. He held on, and they ended up cutting the other rope to leave him dangling helplessly before their arrow onslaught. Ameiko managed a final shot to the cougar on the opposite shore.
Espa and Naeric start fires on the western and eastern side of the goblin towers. The goblin patrol and goblins on one watchtower are alerted by the smoke. Everyone moves inside of the foyer, the dirt floor with ramshackle walls and roof. It is lined with stinky goblin trophies -- dog and horse heads up on the wall, and two large black wings, which has a nice dagger stuck in it that Naeric grabs. The dagger has a beautiful pearl handle carved with the word "Bristanch" in a flowing script. It is worth 100gp.
They make their way inside. First, they clear the west watchtower. Shalelu continues to use this as a lookout to pick off any goblins outside. Naeric has Penna deliver a drakeheart mutaten to Espa. After the group clears the fenced yard of goblin dogs, they notice a shed with the door nailed shut. Espa chugs the mutagen and charges onward through the base. The fire rages, and the goblins in the eastern tower try their luck (poor) with leaping onto the roof below.
