Whitehearth

An ancient coastal city and the largest city in Haka, Whitehearth was the landing point of the original drow. The city has been destroyed by natural disasters and fires several times, with the new city being built on top of the bones of the old ones, resulting in a series of tunnels and catacombs in varying states of disrepair and decay.

Demographics

The city of Whitehearth has a population of 46000 in the city itself with another 250,000 in the surrounding villages and towns. The Metropolitan Area is home to 12% of the Principality's inhabitants. As a port city, Whitehearth sees growth by rural migration by those looking for a better life, and by slaves being brought in to the markets here.

Government

The city serves as the capitol of the Principality of Whitehearth, and serves as the seat of House Jägerhorn. The Castle District, which only Kanreic Elves and their slaves can enter, houses the local and regional government buildings, including the Lords Assembly where vassals gather to petition the Steward.

Defenses

Being a trade city, Whitehearth was incredibly prosperous which allowed it to be one of the most well defended places in the Confederation. The city boasts four sets of walls. The two outermost walls created a strong defensive barrier, inside of which the city sat. The outmost wall is 30ft tall and 8ft thick, and there is a 60 ft wide 100ft deep dry moat between it and the 3rd wall, which is 45ft high, 12 ft thick, and has multiple gatehouses that provide entrance into the city. The outer castle walls are 30ft high and 10ft thick, providing the barrier between the castle district and the rest of the city. The Castle Proper has 60ft high and 15ft thick walls.   The port sits inside the city, and there are a series of gatehouses with heavy cannons on top. Going between the gatehouses are a series of chains that can be pulled up to block entrance or exit to the harbour.

Industry and Trade

Whitehearth is the primary trade port of the Hakan Confederation, serving as the hub for imports and exports as well as the slaving capital of the nation.
