History

The history of the Kingdom of Flamel is intertwined with the Covenant of Blood and Magic and the rise and fall of the House of Abamont. In a time of turmoil and division among the disparate nobles and petty kingdoms, the Covenant with Ra'drak united the human realms under the House of Abamont, granting them power and blessings of magic. This pact halted the advancing forces of the Eisenovians and solidified the House's rule.   For centuries, the House of Abamont faithfully fulfilled their obligations under the Covenant, upholding their end of the deal and maintaining the nation's security and prosperity. However, in 2775 AC, King Alexandre's refusal to honor the Covenant led to a breach of contract with Ra'drak, shattering the delicate balance.   Despite repeated opportunities to rectify the situation and mend the breach, King Alexandre remained steadfast in his refusal. The consequence was a devastating invasion of Flamel by devils, resulting in the collapse of the Kingdom in a matter of weeks.   This catastrophic event, known as Alexandre's Folly, marked the end of the Kingdom of Flamel and left a legacy of betrayal and the wrath of Ra'drak in the annals of Lorinian history.   In summary, the Kingdom of Flamel thrived as a feudal monarchy, bound by the Covenant of Blood and Magic with the House of Abamont and the influence of the Church of Flamel. Its political structure, notable laws, and policies were reminiscent of medieval France and Italy. The agrarian-based economy, driven by agriculture and trade, supported the Kingdom's prosperity. However, the breach of the Covenant and subsequent invasion by devils brought about its tragic downfall, leaving an indelible mark on the kingdom's history.
