Floating Palace Gardens

In the story "Tales Of Zephyr '' on the Royal Road website a whole chapter takes place in a palace garden. A section of the ship protected behind a guarded red door, the princess halls, is off limits to any man, which is why Anas'Almar stops before the gate to hand over his sister who is an imperial princess.
At a steady pace the palace gardens move across the Eastern Blue transporting hundreds of troops, servants, government agents and sometimes even the entourage of a princess. They are the perfect blend of a luxury cruise and an official imperial vessel with space for barracks and entertainment. Its hull is made of iconic, long, red-wood planks and the deck bursting with plant life and fanned out sun-sails. Truely a castle in the sky.

Power Generation

The Palace Gardens work on the same principles as any flying ship. Solar sails take in energy from the wind and sun that is directed to the Heart-Tree, which in turn is in communication with the wood hull of the vessel and all the plants, giving the ship life to float and a way to control the latitude and propulsion of the ship. Specialized steering sails at the side of the ship allows it to turn. Unlike smaller vessels the Palace Gardens instead have several heart trees all working together and synced with the help of trained woodsmen (person on the ship who listens to and works with the heart-tree and its functions). Multiple Heart-Trees also means for greater protection, as the ship then has multiple failsafes and parts that could float independently.

Hangars & docked vessels

These special ships do not dock in any regular harbor. Imperial palaces and important offices have special long gardens for the Palace Gardens to dock, these gardens often serving as a meeting place for officers when unoccupied.
