EVA-2 “Deva” Suits

When conducting assaults on deep space installations or boarding actions on starships, GuardCorps forces will employ combined arms tactics that use both zeos fitted for space operations and star marines in durable, combat-ready EVA suits. The most common suit utilized by GuardCorps troops is the EVA-2 “Deva” Suit; this is due primarily to its reliability, ease of use, and ability to be mass-produced.

The EVA-2 resembles standard GuardCorps body armor and is especially resilient against plasma and ballistic projectiles. The armored plates are coated with a proprietary chemical laminate that absorbs the majority of energy from micrometeoroid impacts, which can cause tiny, localized plasma bursts on the surface of the suit. Upon approaching a target (often a starship), the user can activate magnametic devices in the suit’s boots in order to “stick” to the hull or other metal surfaces.

All EVA-2 suits feature an internal pressure system that uses a customizable mix of oxygen and nitrogen; a responsive, motor-enhanced frame that eases the user’s movements; a dynamic temperature-control system that adjusts to the surrounding environment; and a short-range communications system that uses infrared lasers to transmit data to other squad members.

When the suit is breached by gunfire or tearing, a membrane beneath the exterior armor plates activates to fill the gap with a sticky foam that rapidly hardens into an air-tight plug.
