Adon Cayn
Adon Cayn is a Sakura zeo pilot and formerly the top-rated soldier of the GuardCorps formation XCEL, an elite unit deployed by the AranSoCo Prefecture in Adir’s Sun. Cayn’s remarkable history of saving squadmates from dire situations has earned him the callsign “Shield.” During his tenure with XCEL, its official scoreboard listed Cayn as its top-performing soldier, leading in kills, assists, and contribution to mission success. Cayn topped quarterly popularity polls from 991-993.
Cayn has cultivated an outgoing, charismatic, and humble public persona, one of almost superhuman confidence, heroism, and exceptional combat skill. This previously earned him dozens of sponsorships and thousands of fans, the latter of whom tuned in to XCEL live broadcasts to watch him on operations.
In combat, Cayn pilots the IHT-82 Sakura Battle Zeoform nicknamed “Avalon,” equipped with an MCL-9 “Big Daddy” Combat Launcher and his signature BK-12 Hounslow IM Shield with custom high-explosive rockets. Cayn’s Sakura also utilizes ablative armor for durability and thrusters for additional mobility.
By 993, it became an open secret among media outlets like TRI-Media that Adon’s sterling battlefield performance was likely the product of XCEL’s extensive publicity arm, which used a combination of precision production and editing to portray Cayn in the best possible light.
Rumors circulated among fan forums that Cayn had reached his peak in 994, that his private affairs (including alleged murders and use of narcotics) threatened to undermine XCEL’s public image, and that the events of the Horrigan Massacre (XCEL Chronicles Season 20, Episode 13) were an attempt by XCEL to kill off Adon during an operation.
After surviving the Massacre, Cayn claimed he would “expose the truth” of XCEL, but later retracted the statement and instead opened his own private training school for combat zeo pilots.
