Winged Wagon

When the winged wagon first took to the skies of Nuhight City, no one quite expected or even understood what exactly had transpired. Some onlookers, defaulting to the safety of traditionalist beliefs rooted to the east, thought that the invention had been a signal from long quiet gods, harkening a return of the divines that never quite took off—pardon the pun—beyond presumptions the vehicle's flight. Others believed the sight to have been some illusion, another publicity stunt by the various show mages that had fled to the unofficial capital of the Con-Reltra League.   The thing wasn't elegant, or even pretty, by any means. It was a wagon, aesthetically. Made mainly of metal instead of wood, though the designers had tried to add some flair by topping it with a colored tarp of silver, instead of the standard off-white or beige. But, for what it lacked in appearance, it made up for in function. The first winged wagon flew on an erratic route that was meant to test its mobility. It was expected to last for ten minutes at most. Instead, it lasted for sixty. We'll ignore the crash landing for now. The vehicle had exceeded technical expectations, prior to extensive optimization. Now, all its producers needed to do was find a way to make it cheaper and monopolize the means as to how.

The Winged Wagon is a high-class vehicle available in the western coast of Macai, particularly in city-states affiliated with the Con-Reltra League. The mode of transport uses the standard design of a wagon but uses lighter metals and materials to make it ready for flight. The wings, which give the wagon its name, house the hybrid magic-science technology that enables its to fly.
