Amanodel - Upper Districts

The upper districts consist of 5 main sections, the majority of which can only be accessed if a person has been granted permissions to have, and already has, purchased a pass into the upper districts. The exceptions to this is the temple district, which is open for all, or when being escorted by a resident of the upper districts or the city guard.

Temple District

The temple district is located at the northern ridge of the upper district. Within it there are numerous churches, temples, and shrines to the various gods, deities, and pantheons spread out throughout the area. In amidst them are large flower gardens filled with plethora of different flowers in a rainbow of colors. Accenting these gardens are fountains, statues, and placards in honor or commemoration of those who have done the city a great service throughout the centuries. One of the most prominent of which is of Keritol, a Dwarven Pantheon of Diplomacy which was erected after the treaty was signed to put an end to the Knelik Wars.

Nobles Propper

The Nobles Propper, located on the west ridge of the upper districts, is a residential district that houses many of the Kioterran Council, as well as wealthy and influential individuals. Lodging is also present for foreign dignitaries to utilize while visiting Amanodel.

The Arcanum

The Arcanum is a specialized market for magical goods, located on the southern edge of the upper districts. The pass into the upper districts, unless otherwise specified, grants a person permissions to buy and sell magical goods within this district. Far more magical goods are purchased by merchants within this district than are sold due to the heavily limited access to the district. Magical artifacts of unusual properties or origin that are brought here are often sent to Amanodel's College of the Arcane for further study. There are products that they bring in from the enchanters in the Lower District, though in most cases, these are brought in when ordered. Some of the upper class purchase magical goods here simply for the novelty of having them.

Upper Markets

The upper markets are high-end markets, located on the eastern ridge of the upper districts, that specifically cater to noblity and the "upper class". Shopping within this district is more of a symbol of status than anything, as prices are often inflated significantly. The quality of the goods sold within this market, however, is top of the line. The most common shops within this district include restaurants selling food from around the world, clothiers that tailor every garment to their wearer, and shops selling custom furniture and accents.

Grand Council Hall

In the center of the city is a colossal white spiral spire, about 600 feet tall, known as the Grand Council Hall. At the base of the spire are two large doors, leading into the main foyer. The Kioterran Council, as well as other government officials, use this structure as the center seat of government for Kioterra. There are no records for who built the tower initially, and the city of Amanodel was built up around the structure. As such, there are various rumors of who or what built the tower in the first place, and what it's original purpose was.
