Kioterran Council

The Kioterran Council is a democratic government. It consists of 32 elected members and an appointed leader. Initially, 33 members are elected from various regions and races across Kioterra and serve to represent them and work towards bettering Kioterra as a whole. The elected members then appoint one member to be the leader of the council, primarily acting as a public face.
Elections are held every 4 years. If either the council or the public are severely dissatisfied with the current leadership, a re-election can occur before that time frame is up. However, in the nearly 1000 years since Kioterra had moved to a democratic style of government, this has only occurred 11 times, all of which were in the first 300 years.
The council resides within the capital city of Amanodel, meeting within the Grand Council Hall, a colossal white spire in the center of the city. The council members also make regular trips to their elected regions to remain in touch with what is currently going on there.
