Isaac Orione Stillspire (a.k.a. Izzy)
~ WORK IN PROGRESS ~
DM note: if possible do you think you could condense this and add the details to the template specific prompts? It's just a little easier for me to process then :,)
Isaac was brought up in a privileged bubble by his deeply protective and conservative family. He's been longing to break free from his suffocating upbringing and shed his parents' ideals essentially his entire life.
Throughout his childhood, he was celebrated for his intelligence and quick wit, being compared to his mother and being told he'd amount to great things. Although he knew he had a thirst for knowledge, he was never passionate about anything. he had dabbled in various fields but did not seek to succeed in the opportunities given to him. His parents were confused by his lack of ambition and figured he'd need to widen his scope.
When they finally gave him the smallest ounce of freedom to explore the real world, they were right to believe in its ability to widen his horizons, but just... not in the way they thought. e realized how morally misguided their beliefs were. When they believed in strict authoritarian order, maintaining a rigid class system and the importance of sticking to family tradition, he believed in self-autonomy, freedom and progressive reformation.
He's had a pursuit for knowledge for as long as he's known, and after finally getting a glimpse of what lies outside of his sheltered sphere -poverty, famine, and bloody remnants of a deep, ongoing race war - all he knows is that he wants to get to the bottom of this. See the big picture. Find out the true reasons for this war, and hopefully put an end to it.
Unfortunately, and fortunately, some could argue, his predictable family did not take his thoughts lightly. They told him they feared for his life if he decided to go on such an adventure and forbade him from ever speaking of quests to end the war ever again, and kept a strict leash on him thereafter.
The truth of the matter was, however, was that The War had created a deeply rooted class divide that benefitted and privileged them, and the comfort of a lavish life was too sweet to potentially leave. Furthermore, their desires for political power and racism against the other species' allowed them to witness the 'purification' of the species' due to the nature of The Blood War.
Realizing that their motives were shockingly rooted in corruption and hatred, Isaac had a period of self-reflection. He understood that his parents would never change their ways and that their amoral views would continue to affect the innocent and less-fortunate, simply for being another race. He simply could not tolerate their ideals after seeing the global consequences this War has had on others, and so, he ultimately decided to devise a long term plan to gather resources, develop survival skills to sustain himself and ultimately escape from the grip of his family.
His parents ended up disowning him and he was banished for exhibiting 'criminal behaviour' and 'dangerous ideologies'... but he knew this was the right thing to do. Even if he didn't have a foolproof plan for such a daunting quest, he somehow knew that he'd meet people who'd share his vision in some regard - to find out the truth, to understand the big picture and to defeat the entities causing this mass destruction and suffering.
Isaac is still learning to shed his austere exterior and live in a completely different lifestyle, but he finally has begun to feel things he hasn't felt in a long, long time - freedom. Excitement. Happiness. Fear.
And most importantly of all, Isaac finally feels like he's found his purpose.

his dad knows he’s a sorceror but instead tells him he’s a cleric,,, and teaches him ‘control’ and only condones what he deems is the correct kind of holy magic,, making him very scared of the rest of his abilities
eventually elf kid is meant to be drafted into the war but runs away and is being pursued
issac tries to hide him,, parallels to first meeting,, but eventually elf dude is like,, i can’t put u in danger and kisses him before he gives himself up
issac is restrained by the guards as he tried to reach for him as elf dude gets taken away
he’s sent home where he collapses in his fathers arms,, who acc does comfort him cos we’re gonna make him nuanced
later on he’s tidying his dads room when he stumbled upon a smol box
this has the receipts of how his birth mother and elf crush were ‘dealt with’ and shows he’s a sorcerer (which he was taught to be unholy)

eventually found by aur who takes care of him and accompanied aur in his paladin stuff
Personality Characteristics
Despite his naivety Isaac still has a more grounded and practical outlook than his companions. Isaac is characterized by his sarcastic, smart sense of humor, and laid-back demeanor. Despite some childish attitude, he is intelligent, caring and generally good-natured. Though often stated to be silly or immature because of his relatively young age, Isaac is cunning and resourceful when needed, quickly adapting when the situation calls for it. His quick thinking and good instincts give him an edge in dealing with dangerous situations.
Cocky, witty, and arrogant, Isaac's immaturity and attention-seeking behavior often led him to joke around, regardless of the situation. His allies often criticized his attitude, unaware of the fact that he used humor to mask his fears. He is intelligent, mature but usually stubborn and smart-mouthed. He can be derisively sarcastic and moody, especially when someone tries to manipulate him or forces him to obey.

History
When Isaac ran from home he was lost and struggled to survive on his own in the woods. Aur, who himself was an adventurer alongside a paladin, took him in and looked after him. The two developed a familial bond over the course of the three years they travelled together. They spend the days going on small quests and aiding locals in small issues, and the nights sharing jokes and stories while cooking good food.
They grew close in spite of their differing opinions on religion; Aur being extremely devout while Isaac completely swearing off god worship. Isaac has not shared the full story of his trauma with Aur, but Aur is more than willing to be patient and doesn't want to leave his young friend feeling uncomfortable or attacked.
Commonalities & Shared Interests
Aur taught Isaac basic survival, such as cooking, building a shelter, and hand to hand combat. The two are united by their strong desire to do good and help those who need it.
