Aur is a paladin and paladins, like clerics, were granted their divine powers, known as prayers, through the strength of faith, though the principle object of their devotion was their cause and not their god. Aur possessed the ability to funnel the power of the gods through their own body in a special ability known as Channel Divinity. This power allowed Aur a number of abilities, dependent on the specific god he worshiped.
Aur can combine his martial and divine abilities for a powerful effect, expending some of his divine power to enhance an attack with a divine smite that channeled positive energy into the attack, an ability which improved as he grew more powerful. Aur can also use similar, less powerful attacks known as strikes. Most if not all strikes and smites required a weapon when casting. Aur could also use their divine power to protect their allies, scorching foes who attacked their companions with radiant power that interfered with an enemy's attacks.
Aur is also trained in healing, though to a lesser extent than clerics. He possessed an ability known as Lay on Hands, which instantly healed the minor wounds of a comrade and helped them get back on their feet. His connection to the divine also gave him immunity to practically all disease and allowed him to exude auras of courage and protection making him and allied creatures immune to fear and more resistant to the effects of mental or physical stress.
Mental characteristics
His mother Urra was born into the aarakocra royal family. Heiress to the throne, she was attacked by an orc one night, and chose to carry the child to term. This resulted in the birth of Aur. Desperate to prevent him from growing up like his biological father, the community showered him in love and affection, teaching him the ways of the aarakocra, stregthening his ideals and beliefs in freedom, justice, and kindness.
He grew up loved by his mother and other members of the Aarakocra species, until the age of 7.The dwarves in an attempt to purge the blood of the orcs tracked him down and made their move. The dwarves attacked the village, his mother was found in their home by the dwarven leader, who interrogated her about the identity of the last orc. Aur was told, by his mother, to stay in a closet to be safe from them.
His mother lied to the dwaren attackers, telling them she was the part orc, in order to save her son. She was killed alongside the rest of her race. Aur couldn’t open his eyes to see her be murdered, but her blood seeped through the door, only to stain his robes, that he wears to this day as a reminder of her teachings.
His mother's death initially instilled a deep hatred towards dwarves, though that grudge slowly faded as he grew older, and found guidance. After the extermination of his species, he wandered the world in search of food and shelter, only to be reached out to by a God that started his path as a paladin. Now he follows the path that the God set for him, helping as many people along the way as possible.
He was educated by his mother and the rest of the Aarakocra species, who taught him basic literacy as well as religious and moral teaching that he still lives by to this day. Once he established a connection with his God, he received teaching and verses from his patron God directly, who continued to train him in the ways of being good and kind.
Full-time hero. Part time badass. Aur travels frequently due to the Aarakocra need for freedom and openness. He goes from village to village, aiding those in need by completing small tasks and quests for the residents. On occasion they do reward him with food, clothes and gold and silver pieces, allowing him . to make a fairly honest living.

As a result of watching his entire family die, he has terrible survivors guilt, believing himself unworthy to be alive without a cause. This results in him relentlessly following his family's ideals and completely devoting himself to the service of his god and others, in order to truly repent for being alive.
His mother's death caused an intense hatred for dwarves, which faded over time as he learned more of the world, instead growing to resent those in power who are seemingly underserving of it.
One of the most mature in the group, he immediately took on the role of the 'dad' of the group, caring for his friends and aiding them in their struggles and hardships, both emotional and physical. What he lacks in general intelligence he more than makes up for in emotional intelligences, known for being a good judge of character, and is quite attuned to the emotions of those around him.
Follows God’s path regardless of what he encounters. Does not wish to inflict extensive harm (kill) to anyone but, will go to extreme measures to get what is needed. His strongest moral view is a 'no killing' policy. If he kills he’s also going to go off the deep end, and become a villain. Those in power say if the greater good is a good enough reason to take a life then the person who gets to do the choosing will transcend morality and becomes a self-styled “god”. Aur disagrees about that, since they’re not gods, and to say so is disrespectful to the actual gods. He believes we don’t have the right to weigh lives like objects.
All of his abilities were granted at the behest of his patron. If Aur violated the code of conduct laid down by his patron, then he could be deprived of their divine abilities, particularly if he showed no sign of repentance. Once "fallen," Aur could not regain his abilities without appealing to his patron and atoning for hsi “sins” in an appropriate manner. More minor transgressions could be forgiven through acts of atonement such as an all-night vigil of prayer or fasting
Personality Characteristics
Aur harbors great feelings of guilt over his family giving up their to allow him to survive. He keeps this hidden deep down inside of him and rarely expresses it. He has also felt that he will never live up to the standard set by his mother and is one of the reasons he is training harder to master his powers and combat skills with his patron God. He neurotically follows his family's teachings and always tries to help those in need in order to make his family proud and to properly atone for being alive.
Aur is rather naive and socially oblivious due to his isolated upbringing.
Aur is optimistic, friendly, outgoing, soft-hearted, and carefree with a happy-go-lucky attitude that is appreciated by many of travel mates. Aur sees the best in everyone and is also very compassionate, something which he inherits from his mother and treasures his friends and family. He is friendly toward almost everyone he meets (even to his detriment), rarely holds grudges, and is non-discriminatory, never treating anyone with prejudice, even enemies. No matter the situation, Aur will always go out of his way to support his loved ones, even if it means putting his life on the line.

Urra KAR RAA is the mother of Aur. The two were extremely close and Urra spent her adult life caring for him and teaching him the ways of religion and the gods. History
When Isaac ran from home he was lost and struggled to survive on his own in the woods. Aur, who himself was an adventurer alongside a paladin, took him in and looked after him. The two developed a familial bond over the course of the three years they travelled together. They spend the days going on small quests and aiding locals in small issues, and the nights sharing jokes and stories while cooking good food.
They grew close in spite of their differing opinions on religion; Aur being extremely devout while Isaac completely swearing off god worship. Isaac has not shared the full story of his trauma with Aur, but Aur is more than willing to be patient and doesn't want to leave his young friend feeling uncomfortable or attacked.
Commonalities & Shared Interests
Aur taught Isaac basic survival, such as cooking, building a shelter, and hand to hand combat. The two are united by their strong desire to do good and help those who need it.
