Oypani Crystals

A large spherical crystal glows with prismatic light. The gem is about the size of a volleyball, and glitters and glows with rainbow light. It gently emits a constant light, and is warm and comforting to hold. It has an unmistakable magical aura that draws in strong magical creatures.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

General Information The Crystals have two states: Awakened or Unawakened. To Awaken them, they need to either be brought in proximity with another Crystal, or undergo some intense event.
Unawakened If attuned to the Oypani Crystal, the Crystal grants one of the following boons per day, randomly.

Roll 1d10	Boon
1 - 2	1 Luck Point (Reroll any dice, or make someone else reroll a dice)
3 - 4	Regain up to your maximum hit points.
5 - 6	Gain one highest level spell slot.
7 - 8	8 spell levels worth of slots gained.
9 - 10	Greater restoration.

Also, when treated in the right way, it can be used to channel energy and Chaos, when placed in a magical layline.
Awakened An instant long rest? When all brought together, can help raise Oypani or Mistra.

Seeding a Crystal

To invoke the Subservient Blight spell, one needs to cite several wards containing shards of the Oypani Crystal in order to channel energy into continuously maintaining the spell. In order to do this, shard of the Oypani Crystal is chipped off the original orb, and placed within a quartz. The quartz is grown around the ward to channel and emanate the magic. The shard alone is unstable, and needs assistance to channel the energy. One crystal can provide about 10 shards.

Significance

Scholarly Known Information

• The Oypani Crystals are a source of pure magical power, ancient and mysterious. Prior to the Split of Nations, it is said that during one of the darkest nights of the year, there was a meteor shower. Several streams of brilliant rainbow light streaked across the sky, crashing down onto the Continent in different locations. When the meteors were discovered, Oypani Crystals were found in the wreckage, untouched and brimming with pure Chaos. A few were found and excavated before immediately being swept up by various leaders. This was then kept secret, as such a Source of magical energy could be very dangerous if fallen into the wrong hands.
• The Crystals were found scattered in remote locations, and usually immediately drew the attention of powerful creatures and people. Many of the Crystals were obtained from hoards of dragons, dens of beasts, hidden away in lichs’ towers, all zealously protected and defended until death.
• They have been slowly found over the last 200 years, and each country with one has a significant advantage over countries without it. Countries without a Crystal are facing significant risk just from a power scale.
• There are 8 known crystals that are in the Kingdom of Herheham, Thorlia, Granhamia, the Haymeslian Empire, Blavind, Torsia, Olomondia, and Lumeria.

Oypani Rumor

• Once, more than 200 years ago, one of the most prominent divine powers was Oypani, the Rainbow goddess. It is an academic debate that she even existed, given that there are so few relics left that even show evidence of worship or her existence. In fact, no one is sure how the name got tied with the Crystals over time, if it was a rumor that gained its own life, or based on truth. Regardless, the rumor goes that she sacrificed herself to defeat some great evil and end the Endless Wars. This ended the battling factions, resulting in the Split of Nations. However, this took a great toll on her form, and her remaining power or essence was split into these Crystals.

Divine Known Information

• Oypani, the Rainbow Goddess of Light, disappeared during the Split of Nations, right before the nations were formed together. This is because Lolth was running amok among mortals and almost breaching the chains of The Abyss. Oypani sacrificed herself and her power and with the help of other gods, managed to seal her back into the Demon Web Pits. This however, resulted in her form to be scattered across the world, each component forming an Oypani Crystal.
• There are 10 total (or 12 depending on the campaign)Oypani can be revived by bringing all the Crystals together.
