Pantheon: Celestial God

Overview
Mythis is the god of dreams, hidden truths, and veiled paths. They are one of the twin moon deities, born alongside Malitheran, and once shared the heavens in perfect harmony. Where Malitheran was the Silent Moon who guarded forbidden truths, Mythis was the Seer of Twilight, who guided mortals through the fog of uncertainty and into understanding.
In the modern age, Mythis is worshipped by spies, mystics, dreamwalkers, and secret-keepers—any who walk between light and shadow. Their domain lies closest to the Plane of Water and the Realm of Dreams, forming a strange triad of reflection, emotion, and mystery.
Appearance and Depictions
Mythis is often depicted as an androgynous, cloaked figure with a luminous crescent halo, holding a mirror in one hand and a silver key in the other. Their eyes are always obscured, covered by a moon-silk veil or painted over with starlight.
Murals and stained glass show Mythis walking the edge of a crescent moon, surrounded by stars and ghostly silhouettes of dreams or truths taking shape. In some old temples, Mythis appears alongside a radiant Malitheran—before the fall.
Worship and Practices
Worshippers of Mythis often meet in secretive moonlit gatherings or hidden shrines only accessible during certain phases of the moon. They wear silver-trimmed robes of indigo, grey, and deep violet, and speak in riddles, metaphors, or song.
Divinations, dream interpretation, and the study of forgotten or dangerous lore are sacred duties. Many agents of the divine balance act under Mythis’s whispers—spies, arcane scholars, and shadowy guardians of forbidden knowledge.
Relationships and Lore
- Mythis and Malitheran were born together as the twin moons of Zalthera.
- When Malitheran sought to seal Nyzzorak and descended into madness, Mythis wept silver tears that fell into the sea, forming the Dreaming Lakes.
- Though they mourn their sibling’s fall, Mythis refuses to speak Malitheran’s name aloud, instead calling him “the Shadow that Hungers.”
- Mythis is often associated with the archfey Zyxy, as their dominions overlap at the edge of dream and emotion.
