Kiverdeth
Bright eyes peered from the underbrush, a small creature slowly stepped out. More became more visible with observation, they had surrounded the hunter. Though small, groups were not to be taken lightly.
"Boo!" The Kiverdeth scattered at the sudden shout, revealing a few more that had still been hidden. Then something bigger started growling from nearby...
Kiverdeth are an odd species, a mix of a cat-like canine, powerful (or delicate) predatory birds, and dragons. No one really knows where they came from.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Most are lithe and light built, covered in a mix of soft fur and feathers. Their heads are also a mix between a bird and a fox, though where a muzzle would be there is a hooked beak. Their front legs are like that of a bird-of-prey. With four digits ending in deadly talons, two of which being able to rotate for griping or running. While their hind legs are more draconian, with fine, dull scales, blending into a tail that matches.
Then there's the wings, which are most commonly very draconian. The limbs themselves being covered in small scales, though the membrane is bare. Some have semi-feathered wings, and others have wings that aren't draconian at all, instead being completely feathered. Though these are much less common.
Ecology and Habitats
Typically forested areas, though many variations exist scattered all over, including deserts and arctic regions. They tend to also be drawn to areas with lots of magic, but are common in average levels as well.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They hunt by ambushing prey, typically from above. Though they are capable of running down some prey, they tend to give up early if they have to chase on the ground. Small groups of related individuals sometimes work together to take down something larger, though not often.
When they do have to stash food, they hide it in trees, though this is often stolen or forgotten entirely.

Additional Information
Domestication
People have gotten the idea that they could tame Kiverdeth, none have been successful in long term.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Their fur and feathers tend to be valued highly, it's just a matter of catching something with a sharp beak and deadly talons.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
They have sharp hearing and sight, though their sense of smell is lacking. They also have a very fine sense of magic around them, though they don't seem to rely on it much.
