Imperial Peacekeeping Forces

The Imperial Peacekeeping Forces are the land-based portion of the Nelkheti Empire's military. Their responsiblities are numerous, and includeputting down treasonous rebel uprisings, keeping the peace in the World-King's domain, providing emergency relief to those in need, and assisting inpublic works projects. The World-King himself is the official head of the Peacekeeping Forces, but he leaves everyday command to his Nelkheti generals and officers.
The bulk of the Imperial army's general staff and officer corps is made up of highly-trained Nelkheti, though in recent years members of other nations have been permitted to rise to these ranks. For the most aprt, Bagarans make up the core of the army's infantry, while scouts and cavalry are provided by Birinia, engineers by Zourania, desert forces by the Zelfanites, and mountaineers by the Paarmiut. While in the past these national specialisations have been rigidly enforced, the World-King has recently decreed that the segregation of the army should end, and all of his subjects have harmoniously bent to his will.
The Rihalites, due to the privileges granted to them as a result of their ancient king's foresight in willingly submitting to the World-King, have a military force separate to the greater Imperial military. While the Rihalite Peacekeeping Forces are, obviously, still subject to the orders of the World-King, the king of Rihal has command over their structure and activities unless superceded by the World-King.

The Nelkheti Bureaucracy would like to remind the World-King's subjects that the Imperial Peacekeeping Forces are no longer to be referred to as the Imperial Pacification Forces. This term was deemed insensitive and has been officially changed.
