The Westerlands

[WIP]
Overview
The Westerland Realms, often referred to as the Greater Kingdom of Falinor during the Era of Unity, is a subcontinental region of Yyrda bordered by the Dragonsbane Mountains in the east and the Northern Wilderness to the northeast, and the ocean to the north, west, and south. It is the only area of the known world in which elves, dwarves, and humankind were able to maintain any significant measure of stable civilization after the Dragon War (~1500-500 BNE), with some peoples (primarily the elves and dwarves) retaining remnants of the histories and culture of once-great Golden Era realms, although this does not include realms incorporated into the Cursed Lands of the Reach Unsung, whose fate remains largely unknown.   The West was the birthplace of both the elven and dwarven peoples at the dawn of the Golden Age and the location of the main settlements of their empires, although the elven empire did extend into the Reach as did some dwarven influence; the origins of the human peoples, however, occurred to the east, with human settlement of the Westerlands occurring only in the final decades before the Era of Strife.
