The Necropolis: The Story of Helmskag

General Summary

As Riven and Hazel explore the room with the large steel gate through which the party just entered, towards the chief's chambers, Sebastian, Eliana, and Helmskag watch Bill wander off down to a small alcove with a table and a few beds. There in that room is a mysterious spirit, who questions Helmskag and asks if he truly remembers his past. Acknowledging the holes in his memory after so many reincarnations as a revenant, Helmskag, along with Sebastian, Eliana, and Bill, have their souls warped into a memory of time long past in the city of Uttir.
They find themselves in the city's barracks, surrounded by wounded and fallen; Helmskag realizes that this is indeed the day of his original death, where the necromancer Vulkara seized the city. The captain of the guard and a few soldiers speak with Helmskag, and immediately drop to their knees in veneration of Bill... something about a prophecy to be fulfilled?
With little time to spare, they returned to the fray with their allies, destroying clerics, necromancers, risen dead, and flesh golems on their way. As they appeared in the main hall within the city's inner ice fields, they watched as Vulkara murdered her brother, Chief Skane, and forced him to rise as her personal zombie. Multiple Bone Nagas joined the fray, and a holy blue light surrounded Bill, allowing him to take his true form: a hulking, gigantic mammoth. With the tides turned, Bill rammed into the ice pillar on which Vulkara stood, crushing her body underneath his hooves... only to reveal the a pair of gigantic skeletal wings, as the dracolich inside her emerged from her destroyed flesh.
As a wave of powerful necrotic energy burst through the room, enormous blue hands scooped up Sebastian, Eliana, Helmskag, and Bill, wrenching them out of the memory. Their eyes adjusted to find themselves face-to-face with Thrym himself.
