The Necropolis: Part 4

General Summary

Sebastian, Eliana, Helmskag, and Bill return to the present, missing a critical piece of cargo. Feeling a tearing at his soul, Sebastian follows Helmskag deeper into the Necropolis to reunite with Matthias' lost body. The remaining party, Hazel, Riven, Eliana, and Bill venture north and stop a frost giant from animating as an undead. Hazel then, extremely methodically after a NAT20 perception, dismantles a powerful set of traps and claims her reward, the Lucent Destroyer, crafted by an ancient Frost Giant tinkerer.
The four companions then proceed south, where a clever use of Gaseous Form allows them to pass through a steel gate, opening the path ahead to the ferocious Chief Skane. However, Skane was no match for the group, as the combined power of Eliana's hex, Riven's scythe, and Hazel's sunbeam battered the undead form into the ice. A swift trample and gore from Bill in his true form ended the fight decisively.
Riven, after another incredibly clutch NAT20 perception, then uncovered the dungeon's true prize: a beautiful jeweled gauntlet crafted by Bigby himself. Attuning to it, Riven could feel a wild surge of power, amplifying their natural healing as well as their ability to destroy blessed waters -- of Ilmater or otherwise. The party took a brief respite before readying themselves to enter the final chamber of the dungeon.
