The Hunt for Greenskin Plains, cont.

General Summary

Eliana, Vyn, Arthel, and Curie continue on their journey eastward in search of the Greenskin Plains mentioned on an old Goblin map; gathering their now-expanded party at the Old Belltower, the four companions set off in the direction of the vast marshlands along the coast, retracing the steps of the two rangers who had already explored some of the area. After making it through a day's travel into its swampy expanse, and on the lookout for raptor-like cockatrices a little bird tipped them off to, the party decided to make camp in a particularly lovely glade deep in the marsh. In the night, Arthel came face to face with the stuff of his nightmares, as a flock of cockatrice stalked towards the camp, but they were suddenly rebuffed by some strange force or sign of greater danger; later in the night, the formidable Pim was reduced to a cowering, shivery ball of fur as some powerful illusion magic detected by Curie had an effect indiscernable to the rest of the party. Recognizing the northward undoubtedly lay a danger far greater than a few rabid poultry, Arthel embraced the promise of certain death and agreed to lead the party toward the lowlands where signs of the dire fowl had been more prevalent. It was only when they moved out of range of the enchantment that the rest of the party realized that they had been moving around in a torrential downpour that had soaked them to the bone; weary with cold and exhaustion, but fortified by the clarity with which they now saw the world, the heroes turned their attention to the edges of their vision in the storm that now surrounded them, along with the distant but swiftly-approaching cackle of avian predators.   Songs of Glory: Eliana (+1), Vyn (+1), Arthel (+1), Curie (+1)
