Dust Mephits

General Summary

On a cold, winter day, two new heroes appeared in the Reach. From the Marshlands, Sir Blueberry the Brave adjusted his cape around his curved, mousey shoulders, and nobly marched east in search of food for his people. Meanwhile, arriving on a boat from the south, Alexander the Mighty disembarked on the shores north of Honorstrand, eager to make his mark on new lands and new folk.
The two heroes met at the cart of a wandering merchant: the fast fingers and strange wares of the tiefling merchant, who simply identified himself as "Boris" may have seemed odd to some, but a few items caught both the eyes of Sir Blueberry and Alexander. Walking away with an absolutely massive, 50lb greatsword to complement Alexanders 2'6" halfling frame, and a strange pitcher full of powder matching the color of Sir Blueberry's cape, the two were tipped off to a quest with a handsome bounty, somewhere in the desert.
As of late, crazed Dust Mephits have been emerging from the Arid Wastes in large numbers, terrorizing traders and travelers who dare to venture close to the Trollskull River. Finding, and stopping, the source of these mephits comes with a hefty 2500sp reward from Mayor Liam of Last Rest.
The two small heroes quickly tracked down a group of six mephits not far into the wastes. Dispatching five of them, and with some help from Alexander's handy use of a net, they managed to interrogate (more aptly, play charades) with the manic mephit, which pointed them further towards the east.
Bagged mephit in tow, they emerged on a strange oasis, with a dozen mephits frantically running around completing tasks for an oddly dressed Goblin. Calling himself "Maggob, the most smartest, magicalest goblin in the land," he waved around a strange wand, controlling the mephits to his whims.
With a combination of distraction, cleverness, and taking advantage of Maggob's incompetence, the two managed to seize control of the wand, and quickly dispatch Maggob with Alexander's giant sword. With reading comprehension beyond Maggob's wildest dreams, Sir Blueberry found a way to dispel the mephits, and the two heroes marched back towards Last Rest to collect their reward (and honor the deal they made with Boris to give him a cut of the proceeds).
