Demons in the Citadel: Heresies of a Hobgoblin Warlord, Ch. 2

General Summary

Domokos, Elfriede, Schloopur, and Robin, are joined by Hazel riding (barely) in on Robin's discarded skiff as the orc forces burst into the ransacked Goblin Citadel. Accompanied by great demonic beasts and reeking of brimstone, the orcs brutally slaughter the goblin survivors and attack the heroes. In the ensuing struggle, the adventurers demonstrated a tactical prowess reflecting both their experience and the Domokos's leadership, as the hobgoblin commander directed the efforts from his position astride the wyvern Sand-Fury. Walls of flame consumed the attackers, lighting rained from the heavens, and radiant blades sliced through infernal flesh and dark ichor to clear a swathe through orc and demon alike--however, as Domokos won his personal contest with the Orc Warchief, a dark miasma flowed from the dying orc's grinning lips to take possession of Sand-Fury, who despite resisting as best as she could, still fell under the demonic influence and threw her rider as more orc forces poured in from the north to the sound of warhorns and bloodthirsty battlecries.
