11.3 - Exorcizing the Well

General Summary

At long last freed from the responsibilities of other adventures [...], Eflriede joins Grunk and Shloopurr in pursuing the still-open contract on the cursed well in the abandoned village to the south--motivated in no small part by the magnitude of Grunks and now Shloopurr's guildhall debts. Using newfound arcane abilities to decypher the abyssal writings on the well, Elfriede inadvertedly triggered its guardian, a powerful demon wrought of pure darkness that ushered forth from the Shadowfell, snuffing the sun from the sky with its otherworldly magics. After suffering grievous blows, the least of them due to Grunk running into walls in the darkness, the heroes finally managed to break the demon's spell with the use of holy water, and in the light of the sun exorcized it with blade and flame and fist. The Shadowell Village at long last has been freed of the demonic curse, and is nothing more than a ramshackle collection of modlering huts on a quiet peaceful and serene coastline.
