11.26 - Griffon's Vale

A few days after the battle Barksdale sent out Matthias, Eliana and Grunk to go search out one of the other possible threats to Last Rest: the deserter Zorif Staveren. Following the map that had been secured earlier, the group trekked into the mountains to a hidden vale. There, they found... nothing. A well-used abandoned camp, some griffon nests on the north side of the lake, but no people. When the group returned they brought with them some travelers they'd met along the road who had been hoping to join the Monsterary.
At least according the official report. Rumor around the inn has it that these three did find the traitor. That in fact, they aided Zorif in sending her small group south to go meet up with a larger force of malcontents, and that those malcontents may be gathering in order to seek retribution from Falinor. Rumor about the town has it that the settlers are having thoughts of joining them, that the Crown abandoned them, that it's time to make a break with the kingdom of Falinor.
