11.22 - The Battle of Last Rest
General Summary
The Goblin Army has been repulsed. Last Rest is safe. On the eastern wall, Elfriede, Bronwen, and Ami held the line against waves of goblins, worgs, and shaman magic with the aid of the town garrison, a swarm of elementals, and the Druid circle; while the gate and portions of the wall were destroyed, when the haze of war lifted, not a single enemy remained alive on the field. The southern gate fared similar to its twin, splintered under the massive weight of an ogre's twisted ram, and the goblin hordes poured into the village through the gap and over siege ladders. However, their ravening forces were stymied by the tactical prowess of Domokos and his band of mercenaries, Grunk and his Monastery monks, Shloopur's psychological warfare, and Eliana's deft archery, and after the majority of the horde was slain, the remaining goblins fled back to the south. As the heroes reconvened at the Last Rest in the aftermath, they discovered that reports of their exploits had already made in into the songs of the bards: Worg legs snapped by hidden bear traps, an arcane spider disintegrated by an antimatter ray, magical vines rising from the earth to entangle terrified foes, eldritch music turning ogres and goblins against their own, unarmed monks flowing like wind between jagged blades, inexplicable apes carving a path of blood through the horde, a hogoblin commander cutting down a worthy foe with envy in his eyes. The Heroes of the Reach have secured their home, and this day will not soon be forgotten in tales of history and legend.
