11.13 - The Standing Stone

General Summary

Ami, Grunk, and Domokos (Matthias can tag along too) decided to take a journey from the Monsterary to pursue a personal quest for Ami -- to complete a bartering transaction for the Moon Sickle that Ami was so keen to acquire.
Using the Moon Sickle itself as collateral, their quest was to purify an old standing stone to the northeast, which seemed to have lost its connection with the far natural realms.
The sickle itself was the key to this task, and the party set out at dusk in order to purify the stone with moonlight. Competent woodsmen, they moved through the forest with stealth and precision, narrowly avoiding an encounter with mysterious undead.
Finally, they reached the standing stone itself. Corrupted with strong necromantic energies, Matthias listened to his baby's wishes to suck on the stone. As it's saliva dripped down the dark obelisk, a necromancer with glowing green eyes appeared, warning them of the stone's power, that it was not to be trifled with, and that it was hers to oversee.
When the party did not yield, beginning the Moon Sickle's purification ritual (and also football-snapping Matthias' Eldritch Baby to Grunk, and yeeting it directly at her, shrouded in magical darkness with tentacles extended), a battle commenced, nearly resulting in the death of Matthias from a brutal Cloudkill spell, as the rest of the party fought off Zombie Mud Mephits.
Eventually however, they managed to overpower the necromancer; with 3HP remaining, restrained in the arms of the party's resident Bugbear, she Dimension Doored away, cursing who she claimed to be "the Allies of the Dragons".
As the Moon Ritual completed, Ami could feel his sickle strengthen in power. Walking back to the Druid Circle, with moonlight guiding their way, they were welcomed back to the grove with open arms. Far away to the east, a faint roar could be heard over the mountains.
