Aamogus; Death, Decay, and Despair
Aamogus - pronounced (ow MOH guhss)
The Deity of Death, Decay, and Despair was said to be all that Aton Cimeni was not. However, like all major deities born from the Great Aton, this Deity, too, was once a part of Aton Cimeni. Many Untenants and Tenants argue over the origin of Aamogus, the Deity of Death and Decay, especially on whether or not Aamogus is from Aton himself. The creation story goes as thus - Aton, falling to a deep despair that welled from the pit of his stomach, questioned if creation was all that was needed. As darkness clouded his judgment, he banished it from his very form, separating himself into a perfect mirror of all the he envisioned himself to represent. One side reflected with life, growth, and hope - while the other shined with death, decay, and despair. Thus, Aamogus came to be; not created simply to be, but to pose as the most important companion to Aton to ever be: one who thought the thoughts that Aton Cimeni did not, so that together they may represent all aspects of thought on all matters. Where Aton Cimeni is not, Aamogus is. They are considered to be two sides of the same coin. Even so, Aamogus is often considered to not be the final deity to be imparted onto the world by Aton - instead, being one of the first, if not the very first, for Aton Cimeni wished to create in a way that would be considerate of all, instead of bearing the weight of bias.
Aamogus bears an appearance in many forms, varying from culture to culture, from religion to religion, et cetera; the Deity is often described to be of all genders, of no genders, or oft as a Goddess. Many manuscripts of yester yore describe Aamogus as starkly beautiful, with an air of tranquility, yet bearing a foreboding presence. These similar themes are present in a myriad of depictions of Aamogus no matter the author - the allure and aspect of Death is one to be interpreted in countless ways. The symbols that align closely with Aamogus are the same as the symbols that align with death, or the lack of life: black smoke; broken glass; a dark carriage; jet-black wings; an ominous hooded figure; and a sickle with which to reap.
Aton Cimeni talked at great lengths with Aamogus, and Aamogus matched likewise. The two were said to have discussed for an impossibly long expanse of time until they drew their talks to a close. When all was said and done, the two rose from their meeting circle, and began to work in tandem on the universe Aton Cimeni was creating. When Aton Cimeni created the world we know, Aamogus forged the Soul Stream. When Aton Cimeni created the existence of light and named it the sun, Deluvia, Aamogus created the existence of shadows, so that shade may be found for those who could not bear Deluvia's light. Where Aton Cimeni brought forth life, so existence may flourish, Aamogus brought forth death, so existence could rest. They worked together, gently, not out of spite - but to give respect to what the other brought forth. With no opposite, a single concept has only one understanding; with its reflection, thus, it can be fully realized and appreciated.
Aamogus is said to be kind, but unrelenting. There is a definitive end, or an ultimatum, when dealing with the Deity of Death, Decay, and Despair. Unlike most deities, strangely enough, Aamogus is theorized as the one most likely to involve themself with the matters of the mortal. Many manuscripts and plays depict Aamogus to be unwavering when participating in the affairs of Bashmor; when Aamogus states the terms and conditions, those must be upheld to the finest of details.
Aamogus is thought of as the final comfort bearer. Though it is an uncomfortable and uneasy change, Aamogus is there to accompany one in their journey to the Soul Stream from start to finish.

I tell you, is there no greater reassurance,
than to know it will always bring you an end-
