The Breaks

The breaks is a rare degenerative condition that afflicts genasi. Initially thought to be the result of hybridization, as many patients for the condition are half genasi, it was later discovered to be a recessive genetic disorder, and appeared largely in those groups as there was no second gene from the other parent, and so it is equally as important for those born with the gene that act as "carriers" get checked for the gene, to ensure that a newborn can be treated as quickly as possible.

Warning Signs

The warning signs vary depending on the element, and can often be mistaken for a multitude of other conditions. For half genasi, it is unfortunately likely that the obvious warning signs won't appear before the condition has already done significant damage to the body.
