The Arcane Fuse

The fundamental element of all Eladrin technology, the arcane fuse is a fascinatingly confusing piece of arcanotech. Researchers have done their best to reverse engineer the technology, though admittedly the fuses are beyond our current scientific understanding.

Uses

The arcane fuse has seen many applications in Eladrin technology, as well as in some early human and dwarven advancements. Due to the intense secrecy surrounding the Eladrin and their history and research, all information on their uses have been derived from the leftover machines and weapons from the Age of Domination.   Most of the arcane fuses that are in existence on Yrnath were taken directly from the various Eladrin weapons left scattered about their compounds and installations. Eladrin firearms powered by arcane fuses acted more like spell cannons than actual firearms, as the weapons were capable of launching condensed bursts of energy that mimic various spells.   That being said, the arcane fuse also saw utilization in the many machines that the Eladrin were developing. One such device, the Interplanar Bore, was in development up until the Slaves' Revolt that ended the Age of Domination. According to what notes survived the Eladrin's attempt to destroy their research, the Interplanar Bore was designed to forcibly travel in between different planes.   Outside of Eladrin technology, the arcane fuses were adopted by many of the other races surrounding Yrnath, with both the humans and dwarves taking specific interest in the potential these devices held. Much of the technology responsible for the Age of Reformation and Age of Exploration came as a result of inventors exploring what the abandoned Eladrin tech was capable of. From powerful airships and mechs to entire cities powered by a single engine, the advancements granted thanks to the arcane fuse led to the most prosperous time in all of Yrnath history to date.
