Prozesian Goblins

Historically, goblins have primarily lived on the continents of Prozes and Drezomira, though some were known to make their home on the island of Elysia or Savalia. Those who lived near goblin tribes viewed them as a minor annoyance at best, with the better kingdoms working with local tribes to maintain fair and appropriate borders between their respective lands. These kingdoms would often call upon their neighboring tribes to help in times of crisis, and would pay them for their services with food and treasures. The tribes would also occasionally call upon the friendly kingdoms to help settle disputes between tribes. As these connections grew, it became the expectation that kingdoms in Drezomira and Prozes would have goblins translators amongst their court, and that the tribal leaders would have say in matters of state that involved them.   When the time of kingdoms gave way to the age of nations, however, these long-standing relationships were very often abandoned in favor of expansion and imperialization. The goblin tribes of Prozes would suffer the most in this new age, as the nations being built around them gave them little more than a choice: become members of our new society, or be exterminated. It could be argued that those who chose the former were no better off than those who chose the latter, as while they may have remained alive, everything that made up their lives was destroyed around them. The eradication of goblin culture was not uniform between nations, however even in those that did allow some aspects of culture to be retained, the forceful integration into their national society resulted in those aspects of culture being lost to time regardless.   In 5E 307, the issue of goblin sovereignty reached the United Coalition of Allied Nations. The following year, the UCAN would rule that goblin tribes had the right to determine their own tribal borders. This ruling, despite applying to all goblin tribes, was essentially unenforceable in Prozes, as the eradication of tribal cultures had made it impossible for any groups to form. Those that did attempt to declare sovereignty on Prozes regardless often failed to meet the population requirement to be recognized as legitimate by the UCAN.
