Bellehoppers

The Bellehoppers are employees of the Bellehop International Postal Association who are tasked with delivering parcels to regions not currently covered by the Bellehop Instant Delivery Stations.

History

When the Bellehop Courier Service was established in 5E 147 as part of the United Coalition of Allied Nations' Yrnath Parcel and Mail Initiative, there were only three established Bellehop Delivery Stations located in the D'Nalsi Islands. While this system worked for mail delivery on the island of Lachmeda, with couriers able to deliver mail to the rest of the island from one of the three stations, the rest of the archipelago lacked the ability to receive mail directly. To compensate, the Bellehop Service established the role of Bellehoppers. Their responsibility was to collect mail from one of the three stations and deliver it to the other islands. Intended as a temporary solution, the role of Bellehoppers was retired after Delivery Stations were established on the other islands of D'Nalsi.   Following the invention of the Bellehop Disk and the massive expansion of the Bellehop Service into a global organization, the usage of couriers dwindled, and many communities were in danger of losing the ability to receive mail. The then-President of the Bellehop International Postal Association, Timothy Ornwell, permanently restored the Bellehoppers to address this looming problem. When questioned why he would restore a role that was largely replaced with the Bellehop Disks, Ornwell was quoted as saying "progress should be encouraged, but never demanded", and "our business is mail, first and foremost. If we can't deliver the mail without some magic disks, then we've already failed".   The restoration of the Bellehoppers has allowed for mail to reach even the most isolated of communities, further connecting all corners of the world in ways that once seemed impossible. On 2 Janus, 7E 583, during press conference on communication initiatives that are in development, the current Bellehop President Vyudhoru Arijit reaffirmed the company's commitment to maintaining the role of Bellehoppers.
